Danjugan Island: Everything you need to know!

Danjugan Island is a renowned ecotourism destination in Negros Occidental. It used to be a threatened island – exploited by overfishing, but has since evolved into a natural sanctuary abundant with resources on water and inland. It is a massive island covering 43 hectares that holds forests, hills, lagoons, bat caves, mangrove forests, and a stunning underwater landscape.

It is not a resort, but a conservation project managed by the PRRCFI. The trip here will not only satisfy your wanderlust but will also supply you with environmental awareness, sustainability, and on being a steward for nature.

Even with its fame as a tourist destination, the purpose is still withheld and the preservation is a priority. Only 10% of the island is developed for tourism and the rest continues to flourish. They also accept a limited number of visitors per day to not overwhelm the sanctuary.

You will have a tour featuring non-disruptive activities that mainly focuses on the beauty of the island.
